Job Hazard Analyses and Pre-Task Plans are critical safety planning tools that ensure hazards are identified, assessed, and controlled before any work begins. When completed consistently, they create a culture of proactive safety — and provide a permanent, signed record that the right thinking happened before anyone picked up a tool.
A Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) breaks a task into its individual work steps — for each step identifying the potential hazards and the control methods required to manage them. JHAs are built inside SafetyLink with as many steps as the task requires, signed digitally by the conductor, and stored permanently against the project and task. Existing JHAs can be reused for recurring work, and external JHA documents can be uploaded alongside digital forms.
Pre-Task Plans are completed each morning before the crew starts — capturing the day's project and task, equipment needed, personnel assigned, and the safety measures in place. Once submitted, the plan is locked in as a completed record, filterable by project and date, with the option to upload external pre-task plan documents as well.
Job Hazard Analysis
Create a JHA with step-by-step work steps — each with its own potential hazards and control methods. Add steps as needed, draw or upload a signature to complete, and store the finished record against the project and task. Download a JHA template, upload an external document, or reuse an existing JHA for recurring tasks.
Create a new JHA
Build a JHA with work steps — each step capturing the work description, potential hazards, and control methods. Add as many steps as the task requires.
Use an existing JHA
Reuse a previously completed JHA for recurring tasks — saving time on standard work without duplicating effort every time the same task is performed.
Upload JHA documents
Upload external JHA documents (e.g. docx files) directly against a project and task — stored in the JHA Documents tab alongside digital forms.
Download and export
Download a JHA template to use offline, view completed JHAs as PDFs, and export records for client submissions, audits, or incident investigations.
Pre-Task Plans
Complete a pre-task plan each morning before the crew starts — selecting the project and task, listing equipment needed, naming personnel assigned, and adding safety measures. Submit the plan to lock it in as a completed record. Filter completed plans by project or date, and upload external pre-task plan documents alongside digital submissions.
Create a Pre-Task Plan
Complete a daily pre-task plan covering project, task, equipment needed, personnel assigned, and safety measures — submitted each morning before the crew starts work.
Upload Pre-Task Plans
Upload external pre-task plan documents directly into SafetyLink — stored alongside digital submissions for a complete record of all daily planning.
Search and filter
Search Pre-Task Plans by keyword. Filter by project and date to find any record — or switch to the Documents tab to access uploaded files instantly.
Download and export
Download a Pre-Task Plan template to use offline, view completed plans, and export records for client submissions, audits, or incident investigations.
